The Packers NEED To Beat The Lions On Sunday
This is a must win game on Sunday for the Packers.
A lot of people will say that is just desperate considering it’s the first game of the season. I think that’s the perfect reason to win it.
The Detroit Lions have won the NFC North back-to-back seasons now. They have come into Lambeau Field and beaten the Packers the last three times. Since November 6th, 2022, the Lions are 5-1 against the Green Bay Packers. Now I won’t mention the Detroit Lion’s trophy case, but I will give credit where credit is due. Since Dan Campbell took over as head coach, they have had the Packers number. That all needs to change on Sunday.
The time is now for the Packers. No, I’m not saying that only because of the addition of Micah Parsons. I am saying that because of the history of this current Packers team. First off, with Matt LaFleur. He’s only missed the playoffs once in his first six seasons with the Packers and won a lot of football games. He has playoff experience and been in plenty of big-time games. It’s time he takes this team to the next level. A Super Bowl.2022: Lions @ Packers- WIN

The Packers also have the youngest roster in the NFL who have been through wars together. They’ve had a taste of the playoffs and are ready to make that next step. With that, Jordan Love is going to be the key to how far they go. It’s year three, he’s healthy, and has a boatload of weapons. Love has a chance to prove a lot of the haters wrong this season. From 1992-2014, the Packers went 24-0 against the Lions in the state of Wisconsin. And Matt LaFleur won his first 5 games against Detroit. But Dan Campbell's squad has gone 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in the rivalry.

The Packers’ defense is another big factor in this too. With the addition of Micah Parsons, they didn’t just get a great player, they got someone who is going to elevate others. Rashan Gary is one guy who I think is going to benefit largely from Parsons’ being on the field. The more pressure the better, something we haven’t had in Green Bay in what feels like ages. I’m excited to see what Jeff Hafley does in year two with this defense and the addition of a stud in Micah Parsons.

This is more than just a week one game. This is an opportunity to make a statement. The Packers have all the tools to succeed, now they need to show it on the field. I don’t care how they get the job done, whether it’s running the hell out of the ball or airing it out all game. What we need to see is a sense of urgency and physicality in this Packers team. How can you use Micah Parsons in your defense?

“I’m not telling,” Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley said.
Hafley did say his mind started going “100 miles an hour” thinking of ways he can use him. Also gives him more flexibility with other players, too. pic.twitter.com/fw013bhk4F
Green Bay isn’t called Titletown for nothing. It’s been a long time since the Packers have played in and won a Super Bowl. Winning this game would be a huge step in that direction. Getting the monkey of your back that is the Lions in week one would give more momentum to this team than you think.I'm not sure we've ever seen a Packers season opener like Sunday's.

First-round pick at WR with big-time buzz.
Second-year LB with HUGE expectations.
And a historic trade for one of the game's best players.
Lambeau Field. 15-win Lions coming in. Epic.
I can’t wait to watch it happen in person this Sunday at the Cathedral of Football that is: Lambeau Field.#Packers QB Jordan Love on how Sunday’s intro at Lambeau Field should go for Micah Parsons vs. the #Lions:

“They gotta do defense. Micah last. Crowd’s gonna go crazy. … Defense goes out there first. Get a three-and-out. Micah gets a sack on third down. I already see it.”
