Packers Lose to Bears in 2014 NFC Championship Rerun: Players Need to Make Plays When It Counts

Image
Photo Credit: Madison Morris, packers.com The Packers lost to the Bears on Saturday night in a game where they did everything wrong to lose the game. From a botched onside kick to a deep bomb that sealed the game in overtime, it felt like dΓ©jΓ  vu. Pretty similar to another classic Packers collapse, the 2014 NFC title game against the Seattle Seahawks. Packers fans just relived the 2014 NFC Championship Game. - The double-digit lead late in the 4th - The botched onside kick recovery - The over the shoulder winning TD in OT pic.twitter.com/vgkBdHYD1m — Brendan Sugrue (@BrendanSugrue) December 21, 2025   On the bright side, this was just a regular season game. On the downside, it was against the Bears. There is some context to this loss, as Jordan Love left the game after 17 plays due to a concussion he sustained. Malik Willis came in and was completely serviceable until his fumble in overtime. Credit to the Bears though, the vibes around their team have completely turned around than...

And Just Like That, Micah Parsons Suffers a Possible ACL Tear and the Packers’ Season Is Turned Upside Down After a Third-Quarter Nightmare Against the Broncos

It’s hard to put into words. If the Packers had simply lost this game to the Broncos and nobody got hurt, we wouldn’t be as down in the dumps as we are right now. Instead, we got the worst of both worlds. When Micah Parsons went down with a noncontact knee injury in the third quarter, I have never seen the life get sucked out of a stadium so fast. It appeared to be a non-contact left knee injury. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ pic.twitter.com/93b44oAfyK — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) December 14, 2025 yep. look at the shin pop back - ACL https://t.co/YzPyxzpXsO pic.twitter.com/EwZrRgZTVQ — Brian Sutterer MD (@BrianSuttererMD) December 14, 2025   That third quarter against the Broncos will go down as one of the worst moments in Packers history. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Not only did Parsons go down, but so did Christian Watson with a chest injury, Zach Tom with a knee injury, and Evan Williams ...

Christian Watson Had a Monster Day Against the Bears

Image
Photo Credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com The Packers beat the Bears 28 to 21 on Sunday on the backs of a big performance from Christian Watson and a game-sealing interception from Keisean Nixon. The Packers now sit as the current 2-seed in the NFC behind the Los Angeles Rams and ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers were not perfect on Sunday but made the big plays when they needed to. Christian Watson had a monster game, hauling in 4 receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns. The return of Watson to the Packers offense has been a godsend for this unit. The biggest part of Watson’s game is his deep threat ability, being able to take the top off the defense which the Packers desperately needed. His ability to beat man-to-man coverage paired with his strong hands has added an important element to this offense.
