The Packers Dominated The Lions

I still cannot believe how bad the Green Bay Packers dominated the Detroit Lions to open the season. I just can't.

The Packers came out rolling on offense. Jordan Love had all day in the pocket to dink and dunk his way down the field. They capped off the opening drive after Love made a nasty throw through a tight window to none other than Tucker Kraft to go up 7-0 early. His second touchdown pass went to Jayden Reed who I really didn’t think would be relevant in this game considering his injury status going in. The final touchdown came from Josh Jacobs who earned it after putting the offense on his back in the second half.

The Pack never looked back after that opening touchdown The defense played with more juice than we’ve seen in a long time. They were flying around all game long and had 11 hats to the football every play. The Packers’ run defense was dominant all game long too. The receipts are in the stat sheet for those who said the Packers couldn't stop the run.

They held Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery to 44 yards on the ground.

Then we get to the man everyone wants to talk about. Micah Parsons. Even though he had limited action, he still made his presence felt. He made everyone better on the field and there’s proof of that too. Rashan Gary had 1.5 sacks in this game alongside Lukas Van Ness who had half a sack.

Now, Parsons didn’t light up the stat sheet but did get his first sack as a Packer as the cherry on top to a beautiful season opener. That sack was couldn't look anymore like a lion chasing down a gazelle. Poor Jared Goff. This guy is a freak and just wait until he gets a full workload after the Packers mini bye.

Shout out to Matt LaFleur, Jeff Hafley, and the entire Packers coaching staff. The Packers have come out slow in just about every season opener since LaFleur took over. They came into this game with a different attitude which is really all you can ask for. LaFleur was a little fired up after the game too calling out all the season ticket holders who sell their tickets to Lions fans.

The Packers now face a quick turnaround for Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders. Don't let this win distract you from the fact that this is a team we need to beat. Jayden Daniels and the Commies are one of the threats in the NFC and the Packers can't afford to drop this one.

The injury report to be expected, is loaded following Sunday's game. Expect a couple guys on the offensive line who you normally don't see a lot on Thursday night possible. (Those are words straight from Jordan Love today not me.)This game is going to take just as much if not more grit to win considering they have limited practice and recovery time.
