Real Packer Fans Know: Why We Should Defend the White-Out Uniforms for the Upcoming Texans Game

Packers Twitter has been making me sick since the release of these new white-out uniforms. Look, the Packers’ traditional look is iconic and probably the most classic uniform in football. It just screams “football.” But I don’t get all the hate. A white-out uniform is one of the cleanest alternate designs you can roll out, and the Packers nailed it. Yeah, maybe the timing was a little off. A “Winter Warning” in October when it’s 70+ degrees? Sure, not ideal, but let’s be real: these uniforms still slap.

Today it was also brought to my attention that little brother Bears fan Dan (@BarstoolBigCat) was talking smack about the white-out jerseys on "Pardon My Take." First off, I expect nothing less from a Bears fan. But for real, how can a Bears fan of all people chirp about gimmicky uniforms? It’s not like Chicago has a rich history of great alternates. Remember those pumpkin helmets? Or the Michigan rip-off helmets in Bears colors from Temu? Embarrassing. The striped uniforms? I mean give me a break!

Haters gonna hate. But we’re the Green Bay Packers and they’re just little the brother Bears.

Now, on to the Texans game. This is a big one, folks. First real test since the Vikings, and Jordan Love is finally healthy. The only guy missing is Devonte Wyatt, and he’s been a stud. Expect Karl Brooks to step up in his stead again.

The Packers lit up a weak Cardinals defense last week, but the Texans are no joke. Their front has 19 sacks this season, tied for fifth with the Ravens. Love is going to have to get the ball out quick against a middle-of-the-pack Texans secondary. And if we know Love, he’ll take a few shots and that’s just fine. The offense has been humming, even with Love out for a couple of games, they are averaging 27-points a game. Also, can we get Josh Jacobs more involved? The man has only one touchdown so far. If there’s two keys on offense it’s to get the ball out fast and keep it away from CJ Stroud.

Defense? Same story. The Packers lead the league in takeaways, and Xavier McKinney is the NFL’s INT king right now. Two big keys: pressure Stroud and stop Joe Mixon from running all over us. We struggled against Kyren Williams with the Rams, but let’s see what adjustments we made for Houston.

The Packers also have a new kicker this week, Brandon McManus. Now, there’s been plenty of chatter about his past, and let’s be real, it’s not great. But listen, Gutekunst has made a lot of solid decisions for this team, and you’ve got to trust their judgment. They brought in someone who can actually help this team win. We need someone who can reliably boot that pigskin through the uprights, and McManus might just be the guy.

This is a measuring stick game, people. Let’s see where the Packers really stand against a Super Bowl contender like Houston.
