Josh Jacobs Had a Monster Day as the Packers Hold Off the Jaguars with Another Game-Winning Field Goal

What a Sunday. The entire NFL slate was incredible, and the Packers' win was even sweeter with the Bears losing on a last-second Jayden Daniels Hail Mary. Shoutout to the Commanders, who’ve clearly found their guy.

Now, onto the Packers, who didn’t play their best but got the job done anyway. The Packers squeaked past the Jags down in Florida, thanks to a monster game from Josh Jacobs and another game-winner from Brandon McManus against his former team. Remember when people were saying Josh Jacobs was washed? Crazy how good this guy is right? Other than Jacobs, this one was ugly offensively, with injuries piling up, especially to Jordan Love, who left after battling a nagging groin all day. He didn't look his best today and you could clearly tell something was wrong. Props to him for toughing it out, but I respect the choice to take him out before next week’s showdown with Detroit.

Brian Gutekunst may have saved the season between the signings of Malik Willis and McManus. It feels good to have a great kicker and a security blanket like Willis to come off the bench. Matt LaFleur deserves a ton of credit too for adapting the offense to Willis when he’s on the field. The throw to Jayden Reed at the end of this game was perfectly designed, and Willis also found Tucker Kraft for a touchdown on National Tight Ends Day.

On defense, the Packers snagged two more turnovers, including another pick by DPOY candidate Xavier McKinney. This guy is a ball hawk and arguably the best free agent signing by any team this season. Can’t believe the Giants let him walk. Devonte Wyatt returned after missing some time and recovered a fumble. At the end of the game, it was clear the Packers were missing Evan Williams who left the game with another injury. Trevor Lawrence was dealing through the air but thankfully it was only to tie the game up and the Packers got the ball back.

A win is a win, and with the Vikings’ Thursday night loss, the Packers sit second in the NFC North. Next week’s showdown against the first-place Lions is huge, so fingers crossed that Love and the other injured Packers are back. Enjoy that Victory Monday folks, because that’s four of them things in a row! Go Pack Go.
