The Packers Just Massacred the Dallas Cowboys

Holy cow. The Packers just absolutely whomped the Cowboys on national television. Who could’ve seen this coming?

So much can be said about this team and how well they played. From Aaron Jones’ ownership of the Cowboys to Jordan Love, and back to the defense who stepped up in the big moment. All these things circle back to one singular reason, and that reason is Matt LaFleur.

LaFleur deserves a lot of credit for doing this against a powerhouse team like the Dallas Cowboys with the youngest roster in the NFL. Some are asking the question, was Aaron Rodgers holding LaFleur back during their time together in Green Bay? That’s a whole different conversation for another time. The point is, LaFleur can COACH!

The offensive production in this game was off the charts. Aaron Jones tied the record for most touchdowns in a playoff game as a member of the Packers. Getting Jones rolling was exactly what the Packers needed to do in this game, and they executed perfectly. The passing game was just as effective too, Jordan Love finished the game with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in his playoff debut. Well, it was perfect until Joe Barry’s prevent defense ruined it. The guy is special though, there’s no doubt about that. He makes great throws, and his decision-making is superb.

Love connected with Romeo Doubs six times for 151 yards and a touchdown. He also hit Luke Musgrave and Dontayvion Wicks for touchdown passes as well, both rookies! The response the young offensive players had in this game was perfect. They played calm, cool, and collected. That’s all you can ask for.

The defense did just what they needed to do as well. They came up with multiple turnovers in this game, including a pick-six from Darnell Savage. The ending score may say so differently thanks to prevent defense, but they showed out. They did exactly what they needed to do in this game. Get stops and keep the ball out of the hands of the most high-powered offense in the NFL.

The Packers couldn’t have scripted this game any better. They hit every nail on the head this game and highlighted what a great game plan can do. I can’t stress enough how great of a job Matt LaFleur has done with this team throughout this season. Even at their lowest, he kept this young Packers team together and helped rally them into the playoffs. This was a statement win for LaFleur as a coach and nobody should be talking about his future as the head coach of the Packers.

This win was historic as well for the league. Since the implementation of the 7th seed in the playoffs, none of them have won a game. That’s not the case anymore though after the #7 Packers just knocked off the #2 Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs!

Up next for the Pack, they travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers who have served the Packers up a ton of their playoff woes in recent history. The same motto for this game against Dallas should be taken up against the 49ers. Why not us? We’re not even supposed to be here. So why can’t we go out and shock everyone again?
