The Packers Offense Was a Complete No-Show Against the Raiders

The Packers played one of the most frustrating games in recent memory against the Raiders on Monday night.

I don’t even know where to start. Obviously going into this season, we all had an idea of what we were getting with this young team. There were going to be ups and downs this season regardless of what you thought, but this has been brutal since the Bears game.

First off, the offense hasn’t had Aaron Jones at full strength which has been detrimental to their production the past few weeks. But that’s no excuse, Jordan Love needs to be more consistent with his throws. The bad throws need to stop, some of these throws are almost inexcusable when watching back the tape. Love has a lot of potential and has shown flashes, but during this bye week, Love and Lafleur need to get in sync and figure something out.

The Packers’ offense has no identity right now and the gameplan has been the same in almost every game from Matt Lafleur. I’m not saying he’s on the hot seat, but holy cow man, he’s got to switch it up and stop saying the same thing after every press conference. Figure it out!

Surprisingly last night, Joe Barry called a good game. Other than Preston Smith lining up one-on-one with Davante, the defense held the Raiders to 17 points. Rashan Gary was once again an absolute beast and has shown again that he needs to be paid!

Unfortunately, the injury bug bit the Packers again, and it was an absolute gut punch to see during this game. Quay Walker was ruled out during the game with a knee injury dealing another blow to the Packers. Walker has performed super well so far in his second season, hopefully, his knee injury isn’t that serious. Thankfully, the bye week should allow for Walker, Savage, Aaron Jones, and any other Packers to get well-rested for the long stretch coming up.

This is a tough spot for Packers fans, after being a contender for so many seasons, it’s a tough switch to now be riding with a young team that is going through growing pains.

This bye week comes at the right time for the Packers who need it badly. Rest is definitely a big factor, but the team needs to find out what they want to be for the rest of the season.

The Packers are blessed with a game against a team even worse than the Raiders coming out of the bye, the Denver Broncos. Denver has been a complete mess this season, the Jets with Zach Wilson beat them so there is no reason the Packers shouldn’t be able to win that game.

As for now Packer fans, sit through this bye, argue your hypotheticals, and come ready for week seven as we have no idea what to expect from the Green Bay Packers.
