Packers vs Bears Week One Preview
Packers vs. Bears Week One Preview
The
Packers and the Bears are going head-to-head tomorrow in one of the most
anticipated games in both franchises’ recent histories.
The hype and trash talk from this
offseason has built up the hype for this game, especially since the departure
of Aaron Rodgers.
So, what can we expect?
There are so many aspects of this game that make it interesting. The biggest question obviously everyone wants to know, is Jordan Love next up in Green Bay.
As a fan, it's going to be tough not
to overreact to how Love plays on Sunday whether it’s good or bad. Without
Christian Watson, he will have to look towards other guys such as Romeo Doubs,
Luke Musgrave, and Aaron Jones. Love's composure and character in this game is
definitely something to look out for.
Going back to Aaron Jones, he is
easily the best offensive player on the Packers at this moment. Green Bay
should be feeding this guy the ball Sunday, I would be surprised if he has less
than 6-10 touches in the first half.
Looking at the Bears, you have to begin with Justin Fields to start.
Fields has shown flashes of being a top QB in the NFL and is believed to make the big jump this season. The confidence in Bears fans is unlike anything I have seen in recent seasons in this guy, which is surprising after being the worst team in the league last year. I expect Fields to break some plays, but he's gonna have to show me he can throw the ball, even with his new toys on offense.
The defensive side of the ball
could have the opportunity to set the tone early. With most of the older
veterans on the team, shutting down Fields and the Bears offense will take
the life out of their team.
This game is also going to show if
defensive coordinator Joe Barry has changed the way this unit operated last
year. Playing the cornerbacks ten yards off the ball is absolutely insane,
especially when looking at the personnel in that position group.
The Chicago defensive front also
includes two rookies who are being thrown into the fire early in their young
careers. If the Packer's offensive line plays up to par, the rushing attack in
Green Bay could be a major exploit in this game.
It's also hard not to mention that the Chicago Bears allowed the most points in the 2022 season.
As of right now, here is what I’ve
concluded before kickoff on Sunday.
The Packers are looking at the worst
team from last season, a weak defensive line, an unproven offense, and a QB
with "flashes".
Any Packer fan should love the green
and gold's chances this Sunday without a doubt.
Real Packer fans know. 🧀
