The Packers Need to Get Josh Jacobs Going Against the Panthers

Image
Photo credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com You’re probably all thinking, didn’t this guy just say we need to put the football in Jordan Love’s hands more this season? Touché. However, the Packers’ upcoming game against the Panthers needs to be a Josh Jacobs game. Jacobs is coming off a matchup against the Steelers where he averaged just 2.5 yards per carry on 13 attempts for 33 yards. On the year, Jacobs has an average of 3.6 yards per carry, which ranks near bottom of the league. Although Jacobs has been dealing with a calf injury lately, it really starts up front. You could argue that the offensive line isn’t as effective at run blocking as it was last season. It should be worth noting there have been a lot of moving pieces with this unit. Injuries to Zach Tom and Aaron Banks have forced players in and out of the lineup, and Elgto...

The Training Wheels Are Off: Packers 35, Steelers 25 Recap

Image
Picture credit: Madison Morris, packers.com                               The Packers dominated the Steelers in the second half of Sunday Night Football to propel themselves to a 5-1-1 record atop the NFC. You have to start this recap by talking about Jordan Love. The legend of Sunday Night Jordan Love continued as he went 29-for-37 for 360 yards and three touchdowns. Safe to say, Matt LaFleur finally took the training wheels off and let Love take command of this offense. Love had a career high streak of 20 straight completions to ten different players on the Packers offense. Rashan Gary put it simply following Love's stellar performance on Sunday night. Jordan’s 20 straight completions. I won’t hear how lucky he is anymore. Watch his ball placement even on low % throws. He knows how to safely give his guys chances. If the Pack let him sling it, they’re going to a Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/Zz2Ki7b8Ca — Kur...

Packers vs Steelers Final Thoughts: Visiting an Old Friend

Image
Packers. Steelers. Jordan Love. Aaron Rodgers. Primetime. What more can you ask for? This is a big game for multiple reasons. The biggest, obviously, is that this is the first time the Packers have faced off against their former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers built his legacy with the Packers, winning multiple MVPs and leading them to their most recent Super Bowl. He spoke with Green Bay media this week and was quoted saying, “My football career starts and will end one day with Green Bay.” This is as real as it gets, folks. Even though things didn’t end the way he wanted with the Packers, he still plans to retire as one. Aaron Rodgers on a Zoom with Packers media: “Feel so good about my time there because damn near everything great in my life is because of my football career, and my football career starts, and will end one day, with Green Bay. So got a lot of love for all those memories.” pic.twitter.com/3bgVe11h4z — Rob Demovsky (@RobDemov...

Everything That Could’ve Gone Wrong Went Wrong, but the Packers Still Got the Win Against the Cardinals

Image
Photo via Evan Siegle, packers.com             The Green Bay Packers are 4-1-1 after beating the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 on Sunday afternoon. Everything that could’ve gone wrong going into and during this game happened, yet this team still left with a win. From the team plane being delayed for five hours on Saturday to Josh Jacobs’ calf injury and never leading until the fourth quarter, they never gave up. The first half of this game was a disaster for the Packers’ offense. They couldn’t run the ball, which has been the bread and butter to get this offense going. Jordan Love played well, but the offensive line crumbled at the wrong times, and nobody could get open. Thankfully, they ended the half with a franchise-record 61-yard field goal from Lucas Havrisik to cut the Cardinals’ lead to 13-6. The Packers Are Far from Perfect, but So Is Every Other Team in the NFL

Image
Photo via Evan Siegle, packers.com                                 The Packers beat the Bengals 27-18 to get to a 3-1-1 record that currently leads the NFC North. I don’t want to say this win was underwhelming because it’s difficult to win games in the NFL. However, the Packers have not looked the same after the dominance they showed the first two weeks of the season. There are plenty of good takeaways from this game, even though it was ugly at some points.           The big takeaway offensively is that the Packers’ rushing attack is all the way back. Josh Jacobs went off for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns on a 5.2 yard per carry average. This is the second game in a row the running game has looked good, even with a banged-up offensive line. Tucker Kraft also made his presence felt with a 19-yard touchdown reception to put the Packers up 24-10 in the fourth quarter. Yo...

Packers vs. Bengals Preview: I Need to See Complementary Football

Image
Photo via Evan Siegle, packers.com               The Packers are back in action against the Bengals at Lambeau field for the first time since their underwhelming tie against the Cowboys. There’s a lot of headlines going into this game surrounding the Packers. The injury report being massive, the special teams’ unit, and Matt LaFleur’s play calling have all faced well-deserved criticism following the teams’ awkward 2-1-1 start. the green bay packers might be the best team in the league at coming out of their bye week more injured than when they went into it https://t.co/7M6XfXS7LS — zach jacobson (@zacobson) October 9, 2025            This game against the Bengals gives this Packers team a chance to do something we haven’t seen all season. Complimentary football. Pretty cliché, right?   However, we haven’t seen it from this team over the course of a full game this season. The games against the Lions and Commander...
