It’s Packers vs. Bears Week, and It Doesn’t Feel the Same

I think it’s been pretty clear the Bears week doesn’t feel the same this season. After all the offseason talk about Caleb Williams and the big free-agent pickups, the Bears still suck, and nothing’s changed. Honestly, it’s kind of hilarious. I don’t think I’ve heard more preseason trash talk from Bears fans before this year. They acted like they had it all figured out, but guess what? They don’t. The Bears have fallen off a cliff after starting 4-2, losing their last three games to the Commanders, Cardinals, and Patriots. Their offensive line is a disaster, Caleb Williams holds the ball too long, and Matt Eberflus is, without a doubt, the worst coach in the NFL. The decisions this team keeps making are mind-blowing. Keeping Eberflus around for another season? It’s still baffling. But, hey, I’m glad he’s still there for this game. Can’t ask for a better opponent coming off a bye.

The Packers limped into the bye week after taking an ass-kicking from the Lions. Sure, the scoreboard didn’t show it, but I’ll admit they got manhandled. If they just clean up the self-inflicted mistakes and get Josh Jacobs going, they have a chance to win the game. But that’s behind them now, and Jordan Love is gonna be fully back for this one against the Bears. Their defense is still solid, but the Packers offense has a chance to put it all together in this game before a tough stretch ahead.

The Packers offense has yet to play a complete game this season, but I think this could be the one. With Jordan Love getting healthy and Josh Jacobs running the rock this offense could have a heyday. Plus, Matt LaFleur is a hell of a coach and will have the boys ready to roll. LaFleur’s never lost to the Bears. He’s 10-0 and you better believe he wants to win this game.

Defensively, the Packers still have to account for the Bears’ weapons. D.J. Moore might seem like he’s quit on this team, but he’s still a solid player and can’t be taken lightly. In two games as a Bear, Moore has only had six catches, 89 yards, and zero touchdowns against the Packers, but don't get lazy! Rome Odunze and Cole Kmet are also guys you can’t ignore. The defense is also expected to get rookie stud Evan Williams back this week after he was missed a lot in the Detroit game.

The Packers pass rush needs to show up, too. The Bears’ offensive line is terrible, and we need a performance like the one in Tennessee with tons of sacks and pressures. The more pressure the better, Caleb Williams has shown he’s struggled with it big time in his rookie season. With Preston Smith out, Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness need to step up in the pass rush.

Here’s the dream scenario: Packers win by three scores. The Bears implode. Chicago burns (figuratively, of course). Bears fans lose their minds. It’d be glorious. But the Packers need to come in with a “no mercy” mentality.

Real Packer Fans Know…da Bears still suck!🧀
