Victory Monday: A Win Is A Win
Did that game really need to be that
stressful?
The Packers had the hold on this
game for the majority of it as they should’ve, seeing that they are better in
every aspect than the Panthers on paper. But if you would’ve told me this game’s
final score would’ve been 33-30, I wouldn’t have believed you.
This game had stinker written all over
it and exceeded those expectations dramatically. If you are a Packer fan, it’s hard not to be upset with how they handled this game, especially in
the second half on defense. The defense has been struggling for multiple weeks
now and it’s still insane watching the same mistakes happen every single week.
I understand the Packers won this
game. When you make Bryce Young who’s been terrible all year long look
incredible and have the announcers fawning over his play, I don't know how much more red the flags can get to fire the guy who's running the defense.
I mean it’s a complete joke, on fourth and one Joe Barry just needed to block
the a-gaps and what does he do? He gifts a wide-open hole for Bryce Young to
secure a first down easily. The guy can’t even make the simplest of calls, it’s
unbelievable.

The Packers have the most unserious of defenses. pic.twitter.com/7sQQuN3dwZ
But it’s really not, I mean we’ve
seen it all year. I know firing coaches never solves anything really, but you
can’t tell me anyone could be worse at calling this defense than what Joe Barry
has shown us this season.
Enough of the Barry talk though, how
about that Packers offense? Jordan Love played a hell of a game again, ending
up with three total touchdowns. Plus, Aaron Jones was back in action with no
pitch count after sitting out for multiple weeks. Jones provides such a spark
for this offense; he has dynamic playmaking ability and knows how to work his
way through the trenches for big gain plays. If the Packers do sneak in the
playoffs, he could be the difference maker for them maybe winning a playoff
game.

The Packers were also
down two guys in this game, Christian Watson and Jayden Reed, both of whom play
a huge role in this offense. It was great to see all the other young players on
offense step up again in a game that riddled them with injuries again. Tucker
Kraft has emerged as a nice weapon in Matt LaFleur’s offense alongside Dontayvion
Wicks who caught a touchdown in this game.
Unreal tight-window throw by Love in a big moment.

If there is one player who’s been kind of overshadowed, I think it’s fair to say it’s Romeo Doubs. Doubs has played in every single game this season and currently leads the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Doubs had two key catches, early in the fourth quarter he caught a touchdown to get the Packers up 30-16 and another one late in the fourth to set the Packers up for a chance at a field goal to take the lead late. If there is one guy on the field you can trust to catch the football for the Packers, Rome Doubs is that guy.

A win is a win, whether you like it
or not. The Packers made this game a lot harder for themselves at the end than
they needed to and still got the dub. They are still just outside of the
playoff picture, however. With the Seattle Seahawks' win against the Titans,
the Packers are a game outside of the current 7th seed in the NFC
tied with the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons. The Packers need a few
things to go right for them if they have any playoff hopes. They need to beat
Minnesota next week and also need Atlanta and Seattle to lose too. A Rams loss
against the Giants wouldn’t hurt either.
It really sucks, the Packers could’ve
had a real hold on a playoff spot if they didn’t stink it up against the Giants
and the Bucs, but that is the way the game goes! Who knows what to expect in
this week-to-week league, the Packers aren’t mathematically eliminated yet. So
what’s to stop them from sneaking in?
