Cherish Football

Cherish Football

One more week, just one more week and we get 18 weeks of Sundays with seven hours of commercial free football.

I feel like I’ve been waiting a millennium for this NFL season to start, especially after the horrific ending to last season in Green Bay.

But that’s all in the past, this season is the start of a new era and a new opportunity for the green and gold.

For this blog, I wanted to tone it down a little on the Packers talk and try to bring all of us football fans together.

Maybe I’ll get some hate for this, but we gotta be somewhat realistic. We only have 18 weeks of this beautiful sport.

It definitely doesn’t give you a good feeling in your gut when you hear that, but it’s the truth. But don’t let that deter you from enjoying these months of football.

Think of this as just a friendly reminder to cherish it while we have it. Personally, the fall months are my favorite, the hoodie weather, the holidays, and football. You can’t replicate it, there is nothing in this world that compares to the months of football.

I heard a quote a day ago from the legendary Dan “Big Cat” Katz of Barstool Sports that hits home to all football guys and gals out there.

“You only have a certain amount of football games left in your life. There’s a finite amount of football games you’re going to watch. Get on your couch, get that nice groove in your couch. Put on your big, hooded sweatshirt, you can eat all day because your fat doesn’t show through, and you watch football.”

I’m not sure the words get any deeper or have more meaning than that.

Cherish football while we have it, because someday we’ll all be gone and there won’t be any more football.

            Real football fans know.🏈
