Packers Lose to Bears in 2014 NFC Championship Rerun: Players Need to Make Plays When It Counts

Image
Photo Credit: Madison Morris, packers.com The Packers lost to the Bears on Saturday night in a game where they did everything wrong to lose the game. From a botched onside kick to a deep bomb that sealed the game in overtime, it felt like déjà vu. Pretty similar to another classic Packers collapse, the 2014 NFC title game against the Seattle Seahawks. Packers fans just relived the 2014 NFC Championship Game. - The double-digit lead late in the 4th - The botched onside kick recovery - The over the shoulder winning TD in OT pic.twitter.com/vgkBdHYD1m — Brendan Sugrue (@BrendanSugrue) December 21, 2025   On the bright side, this was just a regular season game. On the downside, it was against the Bears. There is some context to this loss, as Jordan Love left the game after 17 plays due to a concussion he sustained. Malik Willis came in and was completely serviceable until his fumble in overtime. Credit to the Bears though, the vibes around their team have completely turned around than...

And Just Like That, Micah Parsons Suffers a Possible ACL Tear and the Packers’ Season Is Turned Upside Down After a Third-Quarter Nightmare Against the Broncos

Image
It’s hard to put into words. If the Packers had simply lost this game to the Broncos and nobody got hurt, we wouldn’t be as down in the dumps as we are right now. Instead, we got the worst of both worlds. When Micah Parsons went down with a noncontact knee injury in the third quarter, I have never seen the life get sucked out of a stadium so fast. 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Packers’ LB Micah Parsons is currently down and holding at his knee. It appeared to be a non-contact left knee injury. 🙏🙏🙏 pic.twitter.com/93b44oAfyK — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) December 14, 2025 yep. look at the shin pop back - ACL https://t.co/YzPyxzpXsO pic.twitter.com/EwZrRgZTVQ — Brian Sutterer MD (@BrianSuttererMD) December 14, 2025   That third quarter against the Broncos will go down as one of the worst moments in Packers history. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Not only did Parsons go down, but so did Christian Watson with a chest injury, Zach Tom with a knee injury, and Evan Williams ...

Christian Watson Had a Monster Day Against the Bears

Image
Photo Credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com The Packers beat the Bears 28 to 21 on Sunday on the backs of a big performance from Christian Watson and a game-sealing interception from Keisean Nixon. The Packers now sit as the current 2-seed in the NFC behind the Los Angeles Rams and ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers were not perfect on Sunday but made the big plays when they needed to. Christian Watson had a monster game, hauling in 4 receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns. The return of Watson to the Packers offense has been a godsend for this unit. The biggest part of Watson’s game is his deep threat ability, being able to take the top off the defense which the Packers desperately needed. His ability to beat man-to-man coverage paired with his strong hands has added an important element to this offense. The Packers Can Put the Lions in the Rearview Mirror with a Win on Thanksgiving

Image
Photo Credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com The Packers have a chance to really solidify themselves in the race for the NFC North on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions. The Lions have been the kings of the North the past few seasons and in dominant fashion. With a win on Thursday, the Packers would improve to 3 and 0 in the NFC North while the Lions would fall to 1 and 3. The Packers win against the Vikings on Sunday was the first game in a while where they took control and never looked back. It may have been more of a conservative approach from the Packers offense considering Jordan Love’s injury and Josh Jacobs also not playing. The defense was in control the entire game as the Packers built their lead slowly. Love him or hate him, Matt LaFleur definitely had Thursday’s game against the Lions in mind. PACKERS PICK OFF J.J. Packers 27, Giants 20: What Would We Do Without Jordan Love?

Image
Photo Credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com It wasn’t pretty, but it didn’t need to be. The Packers needed to find a way to win against the Giants, and they did just that. The Packers ended their two-game losing streak on Sunday by beating the Giants 27 to 20 in a windy MetLife Stadium for their sixth win of the season. With this win, the Bears win, and the Lions loss on Sunday Night Football against the Eagles, they now sit as the current sixth seed in the NFC playoff picture. The Packers made multiple mistakes in this game, there’s no doubt about that, but they still found a way. Injuries were a huge factor too. Jordan Love left the game with a shoulder injury but returned. Quay Walker, Zach Tom, Matthew Golden, and Romeo Doubs also left the game with injuries. A win's a win, but.... The Packers Offense Needs to Show Signs of Life Against the Giants on Sunday

Image
Photo Credit: Madison Morris, packers.com The Green Bay Packers’ offense is broken. What needs to change? How do they reinvent themselves? Honestly, I have no idea. It’s clear the league has figured out Matt LaFleur’s offense, and it’s put his brain in a blender. Injuries are one thing, but there’s no simplicity or go-to plays for this unit. The only thing you could call a “go-to” is the inside zone run to Josh Jacobs. The fact that the Packers have run this play into oblivion and the Eagles knew it was coming on fourth down is actually insane. As football fans, we shouldn’t be able to predict what play is about to happen before it even happens. Yet that’s exactly what the Packers’ offense has become: predictable, stale, and paying for it now. It’s time to reinvent themselves. They can start by giving Jordan Love the keys. The Eagles game was ugly, but you can’t blame all the offense’s struggles on him. Injuries and below average offensive line play have plagued this team all season. S...

Packers vs Eagles Final Thoughts: It Starts Up Front

Image
Photo Credit: Evan Siegle, packers.com The theme for tonight’s Packers-Eagles matchup on Monday Night Football? It starts up front. The Packers’ offensive line is going to be the difference-maker in a game that will show whether this team is a contender or a pretender. It’s a week-to-week league, we all know that, but the Packers have a real chance to knock off the defending champs in primetime at Lambeau Field. Despite their recent struggles, they still have a better shot than you might think. For starters, the Packers’ defense has been solid all season, aside from their lone stinker against the Cowboys. They’ve held opponents to low scores and have often been put in tough positions because of the offense’s mistakes late in games. Their run defense, besides last week, has been much better than most expected coming into the year. The difference-maker in this one against the Eagles could be Devonte Wyatt. With Eagles starting center Cam Jurgens out, Wyatt and the rest of the Packers’ fr...
